This morning we visit the fairytale Matzen Castle Gardens – a truly magical setting. The delightful English landscape garden of the castle is a romantic oasis where you can just enjoy the tranquility and beauty and escape ‘the madding crowd’.
We also visit the delightful little town of Rattenberg, situated beside the River Inn and recognized as Austria’s smallest historical town. The medieval centre is dominated by the unique displays of glass craft in the numerous shops, and you even have the opportunity to see the glass blowers at work.
In the afternoon we cross over the river to explore the Tyrol’s largest open air museum at Kramsach. The Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses has an air of nostalgia with all the old farms and their interesting pasts where you can travel through time to the days of old.
