Enjoy free time this morning exploring the World Heritage town of Caernarfon. The medieval castle is the most famous in Wales due to its mighty presence and power and was chosen as the place for the investiture of the Prince of Wales. Built as a sea defence and royal palace, it houses the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, Wales’s oldest regiment. Visit also the colourful harbour and town centre. Nearby are the remains of the Roman fort of Segontium.
Then over the Menai Suspension Bridge to the beautiful isle of Anglesey and its spectacular coastal scenery and beaches. We visit the well-preserved castle of Beaumaris, one of the best in Wales. Scenically located by the sea and framed by mountains the moated castle is a World Heritage site.
