This morning you can explore the historic heart of Amsterdam, full of remarkable architectural treasures. After lunch on board our coach will take us to Volendam on the edges of the Ijsselmeer lake. This traditional old fishing village is famous for its splendid harbor, fishing trade and authentic Dutch character. Check out the bustling waterside terraces and don’t forget to explore the old ways of country living or take a picture dressed in some traditional Dutch costumes and clogs.
No visit to Holland is complete without experiencing the residential area of Zaanse Schans in which the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life. Stroll past the bakery museum and enjoy the smell of fresh cookies, or take a look at the warehouse where clogs are made. Don’t miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops.
After a great day out we return to our boat in time for the Gala Dinner , with the evening to spend at leisure.
Please note that for operational reasons timings and moorings can be subject to change by the Captain during the cruise.
