After a full Scottish breakfast we make a leisurely start this morning with a visit to the Devil’s Porridge Museum, which commemorates HM Factory Gretna, the largest munitions factory in the world during WW1. Devil’s Porridge is the name given to the dangerous cordite paste mixed by women who wanted to do their bit for the war effort. The museum also brings to life the Solway Military Coast during WW2 and the Cold War, using artefacts, information panels, film and audio, photographs and oral histories. Café for refreshments and lunch.
