Take a step back in time on a nostalgic steam railway journey through the unspoilt countryside, travelling in beautifully restored vintage carriages. From there we drive to the stunning Botanic Gardens at Ventnor. Situated in the microclimate of the Undercliff the subtropical and exotic plant collection is unrivalled and attracts visitors all year round.
The unique garden grows rare plants and all flower much earlier than on the mainland due to the sheltered location, with 11 different geographical gardens. Plant shop, visitor centre, gift shop and café serving produce from the garden. After lunch we return to our hotel for a leisurely afternoon and the opportunity to visit the delightful village of Bembridge, voted BBC Countryfile Magazine Village of the Year with its great beaches, harbour and windmill.
