A full day today to discover the Chateaux of the Loire Valley. We travel first to the Azay-le-Rideau Chateau. Built on a small island in the middle of the Indre River Azay-le-Rideau is a French National Monument showing all the refinements of the French Renaissance. A subtle blend of French tradition and innovative Italian décor make it one of the most architectural treasure in the Loire Valley.
We then continue to the Chateau of Villandry, especially known for it’s beautiful gardens. Even those who are aware of this are often blown away by the magnificent garden scenery. We have lunch here after which you can enjoy a gentle stroll through these impressive gardens.
Our final visit of the day is to a fairytale castle overlooking the Rivers Indre and Loire. Enter the magical world of Le Chateau d‘Usse , so marvelous that Charles Perrault took it as inspiration for his tale of Sleeping Beauty. Still lived in today it takes its visitors back to a time of legends and fairytales.
After a wonderful day we return on board our boat in Ancenis for tonight’s gala dinner and evening as we start sailing towards Nantes.
