Today a local guide will show us the Peak District National Park in all its splendour, from the natural beauty of the hills and mountains to the pretty villages and towns nestling in the valleys. We journey from Ashbourne, gateway to the park, through scenic countryside to the beautiful spa town of Buxton for coffee, with its Georgian architecture including the Crescent and Pump Rooms.
Drive over the stunning Snake Pass and down into Castleton, known as the ‘gem of the peaks’ and home of the Blue John stone and caverns for lunch. Then on via the Hope Valley and Hathersage to the plague village of Eyam for a brief walk. Continue via fabulous Monsal Head offering spectacular views to our final stop in Bakewell, famous for its puddings.
