We leave the hotel after breakfast and make our way to Shrewsbury. Home of the famous biscuit as well as many other delights we make our lunch-stop in this traditional market town on the River Severn.
Explore the Tudor centre lined with half-timbered houses and individual, stylish shops on the narrow, winding streets. Shrewsbury boasts many fine medieval buildings including the red-brick Castle above the town which contains the Shropshire Regimental Museum housing military artefacts of uniforms and weaponry.
The ancient Market Hall has been restored and is now used as a cinema and café. Lovers of churches are in for a treat as there are 4 to choose from – St. Chad’s has a unique circular nave; St. Mary’s boasts amongst the tallest spires in England; the 11thC Abbey contains historical displays and Shrewsbury also has a fine Cathedral.
Return homewards arriving around tea-time.
Please note that the days that the excursions operate in resort may vary.
