Continuing our wartime nostalgia theme today we make our way to Duxford for the stunning Battle of Britain Air Show – which brings to life Duxford’s finest hour as the important World War II fighter station defending Great Britain from aerial attacks in 1940.
The first Spitfires flew from their base in Duxford and are still in use today so you can watch a majestic mass Spitfire flypast, as well as daring air displays, dog fights, pyrotechnics and aerobatics.
The military flypasts include the famous Red Arrows, Typhoons, Tornados, Lightnings and Puma Helicopters as well as a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. You can get close to historic aircraft at the home of 19 Squadron and visit the museum and interactive exhibitions. A truly inspirational and thrilling day out.
