Today we visit the vibrant city of Cork with its colourful centre scenically located on the banks of the River Lee. The skyline is dominated by the steeple of Shandon, the symbol of the city and we can also visit the spectacular St Fin Barre’s Cathedral. It’s a very cosmopolitan city and we will enjoy exploring its streets and maybe relaxing in a traditional Irish pub. You might like to visit the famous English market selling Cork’s artisan produce.
After lunch we travel to Blarney Castle and that famous stone! Legend says that by kissing it you would be granted the ‘gift of the gab’, but there is much more to Blarney Castle than its stone. Explore the extensive grounds which include gardens, arboretum and woodland or stroll along the riverside and visit Rock Close Gardens which surround the Dolmen stones.
